'Reward good parenting' - Henare O'Keefe responds to teen's murder conviction

A local body politician is calling for parents to take a greater responsibility for raising their children after a 14-year-old was found guilty of the murder of a 40-year-old man in Hawke's Bay. Haami Hanara stabbed Kelly Donner outside a bar in Flaxmere in March. Last week a jury took three-and-a-half-hours to find him guilty. Hastings district councillor for Flaxmere Henare O'Keefe tells Guyon Espiner he would like to see good parenting rewarded, like paying one parent to be home full-time.
