Sea level rise threatens major NZ infrastructure - report

From Morning Report, 6:18 am on 6 December 2018

A new report says beach access could be lost unless the government comes up steps with ways to adapt to sea-level rise. Tens of thousands of buildings, key infrastructure including airports, railways, and roads, and more than a hundred thousand New Zealanders are at risk of serious loss and damage from sea-level rise within the next hundred years. The paper from the Deep South National Science Challenge looks at how New Zealand should spread the risks. The report's author, Otago University Associate Professor, Lisa Ellis, spoke to RNZ reporter Kate Gudsell.
