NZTA reneged on paying for SkyPath design - Bevan Woodward

From Morning Report, 6:16 am on 28 February 2019

The trust pushing for the so-called SkyPath over the Auckland Harbour Bridge says the Transport Agency has gone back on a promise to pay for its design work.

The Skypath Trust's Bevan Woodward says it thought it had an agreement the agency would build the cycle and pedestrian lane and pay for the initial design costs.

He told our reporter Phil Pennington he's received a letter from the agency saying it's now considering other plans and if the trust wants its design considered, it will have to make all its work available for no fee.

He says the letter from agency chief executive Mark Ratcliffe was brutal.
