A man who fell off his yacht off the coast of Gisborne was rescued after three hours in the water yesterday. A co-ordinated effort by the Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter, the Royal New Zealand Airforce and the Gisborne Coastguard found him in the water and used a rescue swimmer to get him on board the helicopter.
