Building boom prompts record home consents in Auckland

Auckland Council continues to struggle to process building consents on time but it's hoping a hiring binge will allow it to handle a flood of applications. In the year to February the Council issued a record number of consents for new homes and says it's recruiting more than 150 staff to ensure it can stay on top of the workload. Tom Furley reports.
