Gun ban urgent - Islamic Women's Council

The Islamic Women's Council told MPs yesterday a ban on military-style semi-automatic guns is an urgent and necessary step. On Thursday Members of Parliament heard submissions on a fast-tracked proposal to change the country's gun laws. The select committee received about ten thousand written submissions on the proposal. However, just over 20 oral submissions were heard by MPs. One of those who made a submission was Anjum Rahman, a spokesperson for the Islamic Women's Council.
