More than 1000 arrested at London climate protests

From Morning Report, 7:56 am on 23 April 2019

After eight days of action, more than 1000 people have now been arrested at the Extinction Rebellion climate protest in London. The climate group has targeted sites in central London, such as Oxford Circus and Parliament Square, in a campaign of non-violent action aimed at drawing attention to the global climate crisis. Organisers are describing the protests as "the biggest civil disobedience event in modern British history". Our correspondent in London is Olly Barratt.
