Principals fear missing out on learning support leaders

From Morning Report, 8:57 am on 13 June 2019

Principals are anxious their school might miss out on one of the 600 new learning support coordinators who will organise help for children with special needs from next year.

The government announced the roles late last year and details are expected in six or seven weeks so schools have time to hire people.

Some schools already have people doing a similar job and disability groups say the coordinators should have at least a masters degree in special education.
