Work begins on letting Kiwis get better access to consumer data

The Government is moving to make it easier for consumers to access and share their personal information.

The European Union, Britain and Australia have all moved to bring in regulations requiring big data holding entities - such as banks - to forfeit their grip on customer data in a bid to increase market competition and innovation.

Now similar plans for a consumer data right are under way for New Zealand.
