Petrol prices reach record levels

We're driving less in lockdown but that hasn't stopped prices at the petrol pump soaring to record levels.

The latest figures on fuel price app Gaspy show the national average cost of unleaded-91 petrol has reached its highest-ever mark - at $2.39 a litre.

Dozens of service stations around the motu have set their price at $2.50 or more - also believed to be a first.

AA general manager of motoring affairs Mike Noon spoke to Corin Dann.
