Health worker on why she took part in strike

From Morning Report, 6:15 am on 17 May 2022

Health workers say they plan to keep fighting if their bosses don't give them a fair pay rise.

Ten thousand allied health workers - that's most of the workforce who aren't doctors, nurses or midwives - walked off the job yesterday for 24 hours, forcing surgery and appointment cancellations

Their union says they'll be asked to vote on striking again and many on the picket lines were keen.

RNZ health correspondent Rowan Quinn spoke to dental assistant Faye Brown and dental therapist Char Blake, who work at the school dental service in Lower Hutt near Wellington.

Brown explained why she chose to picket.
