Rotary NZ unwilling to front on Ardern toilet-seat trophy

From Morning Report, 7:51 am on 8 May 2023

The St John's Rotary club has apologised for a photo it posted online of members with a toilet seat, used as a trophy and emblazoned with a mask of the former Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern.

Rotary New Zealand has described the incident as offensive and unacceptable and the club has apologised.

But no one from Rotary would come on the programme this morning.

A screenshot of the now-deleted post taken by the New Zealand Herald shows a group of men surrounding the toilet seat with a caricature of former Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern seemingly stuck to the lid.
