Strikes, pickets and marches are planned for today by secondary school teachers in the South Island.
Their northern counterparts are down to join them later this week.
The Post Primary Teachers' Association says the action is because of the lack of progress in pay negotiations.
A new pay offer for settlement from the Ministry of Education was made last night.
But acting PPTA president, Chris Abercrombie, says teachers need a pay increase that matches the cost of living, and the offer doesn't do that, so the rolling strikes will continue.
He spoke to Corin Dann.
