Auckland police are still hunting for a gunman shot at a minivan, injuring a 15-year-old girl who was sitting in the van's backseat.
The girl is in a stable condition in hospital - another family member was also injured but not shot. In what's being called an act of road rage, a 2009 Mazda Axela followed the minivan off the north-western motorway near St Lukes on Tuesday night.
The offender then shot at the vehicle near Asquith Avenue in Mount Albert and carried onto a petrol station on Sandringham Road where police were called. Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend is calling it an appalling display of violence.
