Urban marae struggle to feed whānau as pressure rises

Urban marae across Auckland have been working tirelessly for their communities over the past few years.

The outbreak of COVID-19, New Zealand's subsequent lockdowns and a rising cost of living is putting pressure on the whānau they serve.

CEO of Papakura Marae Tony Kake says his marae's foodbank is also struggling to feed everyone asking for help.

He spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss this morning.
