Temporary housing payouts running out

Dozens of people whose homes were wrecked by Cyclone Gabrielle and the Auckland floods say their insurance payout to cover temporary housing is running out.

Many can no longer live in their homes, but are still paying mortgages on top of rent.

Insurance company payouts were between $20-40,000 for temporary accommodation, depending on the policy.
