Dairy and vape store owners are still unhappy with moves by the government to help protect them from robbery by extending funding for fog-cannons in their shops.
A $4000 dollar subsidy was was set up last year affter the death of Auckland dairy worker, Janak Patel in an aggravated robbery.
The government says an extra $11-million dollars for the scheme, will make thousands more retailers safer.
But, shop owners spoken to by RNZ say they are scared to go to work because the criteria for funding is still too narrow and the wait far too long.
