Government denies dragging its feet on AI

The government denies it is dragging its feet in response to the widespread, and rapidly increasing use of artificial intelligence.

Despite years of discussion it has no specific plan to manage its use, and protect New Zealanders from potential harm.

There's broad agreement it could bring enormous benefits.

However that also comes with immense risk which has not yet been fully understood.
