Have you heard of geoengineering, or weather manipulation?
According to a report in the Financial Times, the European Commission will this week call for international cooperation on launching research into the idea of weather manipulation.
That would include solar radiation modification, which could see special aerosols injected into the stratosphere to deflect some of the suns rays, lowering temperatures.
University of Canterbury professor Dave Frame doesn't like the idea of weather manipulation, but says it would be good to have better research before a country, or a billionaire, decides to experiment.
Dave Frame spoke to Corin Dann.
