A memorandum of understanding has been agreed between New Zealand and India to boost air traffic between the two countries.
The new rules include traffic rights between New Zealand and six key Indian cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata, with fresh destinations in New Zealand including Wellington and Christchurch, as well as Auckland.
Other rules cover codeshare arrangements between New Zealand and New Delhi, with the memorandum also including a push for direct flights.
