Without system that adequately reports threats, nation is at risk says Islamic Women's Council

A landmark threat-reporting system for the public to counter terrorism and extremist violence is in limbo.

The system was a key recommendation after the Christchurch mosque attacks, with the Royal Commission of Inquiry suggesting it be implemented by the end of 2021.

But the outgoing government failed to get a final plan for the new system over the line before the election.

Islamic Women's Council spokesperson Aliya Danzeisen spoke to Susie Ferguson.
