Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has criticised the previous Labour government, saying they took immigration settings from way too restrictive to way too loose.
Latest migration figures show a net gain of almost 120,000 people for the year to September.
Luxon told Morning Report yesterday the the current settings unsustainable and immigration must be linked to the country's economic agenda and worker shortages.
