Donald Trump has responded to the Colorado Supreme Court ruling that he is ineligible to run for office on the state's ballot next year.
The Court says Section 3 of the 14th amendment of the US constitution bars anyone engaged in insurrection or rebellion from holding office.
In its ruling it said the rarely used provision should apply to Trump because of his actions on the day his supporters stormed the Capitol building in 2021.
Trump called it "a sad day for America".
