The Government is making efforts to demolish delays in the building consent system by forcing councils to front up with data every quarter.
Applications for consent must be done within 20 working days but many are taking a lot longer much to the frustration of builders and people waiting for renovations or a new build.
The delays also cost money. Building and Construction minister Chris Penk spoke to Corin Dann.
