Hundreds of people from the LGBTQI community gathered in Auckland on Thursday night to celebrate the opening of the first ever Rainbow Games.
Over the next few days, more than 600 athletes from home and abroad will compete in 12 sports, including football, badminton and ten-pin bowling.
