Musical Chairs - Te Hekenga-ä-rangi

Te Hekenga-ä-Rangi is the new album from Hirini Melbourne and Richard Nunns, also featuring the music and expertise of Aroha Yates-Smith. The album celebrates and evokes the female deities, the atua wahine, whose voices and names drift through and underpin the music. This week Musical Chairs showcases the album as a tribute to the life and work of Hirini Melbourne, beloved composer, singer and academic, who passed away in January 2003.
