Since the early 80s Andrew Clouston has been one of New Zealand's most in-demand rock'n'roll saxophonists. Originally from Wellington, he was introduced to the saxophone by Rick Bryant and was soon a key member of local band The Rodents. He became a stalwart of Wellington’s emerging Eelman scene, a group of bands which emerged out of Onslow College. He created the label's ubiquitous logo and later released his own instrumental album, 'The Bag (Funky Barp)', in 1984. During this time he spent two years in Dave Dobbyn's DD Smash, playing on "Outlook for Thursday", then following with the Pelicans, the Hulamen and the Holidaymakers with their #1 hit “Sweet Lovers”. Clouston continued to play through the decades contributing and collaborating with a number of bands and musicians both here and across the Tasman.
