Known as New Zealand's "King Of Soul", Sonny Day has been a part of the Kiwi musical landscape since the late 1950s. By the early 60s he had formed Sonny Day & The Sundowners and released a string of singles. As the 1960s progressed, so did Sonny Day and he accumulates an impressive list of bands and collaborators including The Dallas Four, The Mojomen, Midge Marsden, Breeze and Crow. One of the true blues men on the New Zealand music scene, the veteran singer and guitar player turns 60 this year.
