Musical Chairs - Pop Mechanix (Part One)

A band called Splash Alley got together in Christchurch at the end of the nineteen seventies. In short order the band members renamed themselves Pop Mechanix, and set off with dreams of conquering the musical world. But it was never going to be an easy ride to the top for Pop Mechanix. Little did the group suspect that changing their name to Pop Mechanix would derail their career when they later moved to Australia - landing them in court in a legal battle with a Canberra band of the same name.
