Paul McLaney moved to these shores as a teenager, after a nomadic childhood in the North-East of England. He still lives a semi-nomadic life- he seems to be constantly traversing the country, visiting small towns all over. His album Diamond Side was recorded in LA with a producer who's worked with the likes of Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, and Crowded House. It was all done in two six hour sessions - testament to the fact that Paul McLaney has his methods down. Kirsten Johnstone got him into the Radio New Zealand studio with his beloved guitar and had a chat afterward.
