Round Trip Mars - Jim Pinckney

Round Trip Mars label founder Jim Pinckney, sometimes known as Stinky Jim, is releasing a compilation of new and over-looked tunes. Invaderism, as the compilation is known, features Round Trip Mars artists such as SJD, James Duncan, Phelps and Munro and new signing Scratch 22. The compilation also marks a little over ten years since Stinky Jim and Angus McNaughton started Round Trip Mars to release their own recordings made under the name Phase 5. After the release of the now classic 'Sideways' compilation in 2000, the label quickly became a shepherd for the more curious participants in Auckland's electronic scene. Emma Smith talks with Jim Pinckney about a decade of Round Trip Mars.
