It is not a name that reveals a great deal about the band, but Auckland-based rootsy rock'n'rolling, tattooed country rebels The Vietnam War have just released their self-titled debut album on Round Trip Mars. After undergoing more than their share of line-up changes and financial blockades, a bit of outside help and some serious determination have assisted it to see the light of day. Matthew Crawley spoke to label boss Stinkey Jim Pinckney, Vietnam War bassist Saan Barratt and frontman Lubin Rains about their road less travelled.
