Roy G and the Bivinators are a Newtown/Paekakariki (Wellington) crew whose sounds have been described as 'a little jaz-matazz with a roots-heavy flavour' best matched with 'a hefty dose of sunlight'. Max Hermon is the man behind the songs, the voice, the guitars and often the drums. Maz talked to Hinemoana Baker about the Bivinators' just-launched debut album, 'The Rainbow Throw', his experiences with chalk dust and Tequila, and his first love, the mighty trombone.
