Jill Scott

After a fractious dispute with her long-time label Hidden Beach and a bust-up with her former drummer (and father to her son) Jill Scott is now an independent performer who owns her current master recordings and produces much of her new material. She's just released her first album within the new regime called 'The Light of the Sun' and as Nick Atkinson found out Jill is still mining that soul-poetry vein that brought her to the attention of ?uestlove almost a dozen years ago.
