Gang violence spikes around country

What are the police doing, and what can be done in response to a rise of gang related violence around the country, with the spotlight currently fixed on Tauranga? Much of these problems have been put down to competition in the burgeoning meth market and the impact of the Australian gang members coming to New Zealand.
