Jim Jermyn is a world-renowned expert in alpine plants and is the former head gardener of the Branklyn Garden in Perth.
Jim is in the country as the New Zealand Alpine Garden Society's Steve Newall Memorial Travelling Speaker and will be giving talks to groups around the country.
As well as running the Branklyn Garden, Jim is also known for his plant hunting and nursery expertise.
He's the author of two books on growing alpine plants.
He's retired now - but still volunteering at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh - one of the leading botanic gardens in the world.
