Roger Ellory was orphaned at 7 and arrested for poaching at 17. He lost contact with his brother and it was the public profile his career as a crime writer gave him that led to them reconnecting. He recently won one of the UK's top crime writing prizes for his novel 'A Simple Act of Violence'.
