As the All Blacks stormed to victory at the first ever Rugby World Cup in 1987 a group of students in the Hutt Valley made a pact that they would attend every World Cup that followed. Two of that group have managed it - from the tournament in 1991 in the UK and Ireland all the way through to the 2019 World Cup in Japan. One of them was John Foreman who is also preparing to travel to the 2023 edition in France later this year.
