That korero is from our next guest, 21 year old Hana Rawhiti Maipi Clarke, while she was on the campaign trail at last year's election. She won the Hauraki-Waikato seat off incumbent Nanaia Mahuta, becoming Aotearoa's youngest ever female MP. The wave she speaks of is no illusion. The 2018 census showed that 57-percent of Maori are aged under 30, and as Hana Rawhiti Maipi Clarke demonstrates, they're starting to wield power.
