Episode 143 features an interview with Anoushka Shankar, an incredibly gifted musician who was taught sitar by her father Ravi Shankar from the age of 7. Anoushka is equally a great composer and live performer who’s concerts at the Auckland Town Hall and at Womad in 2018 received glowing reviews.  Anoushka talks to us about her music and her father Ravi Shankar … one of the greatest musicians of the 20th Century who introduced the sitar to George Harrison from the Beatles and American audiences. Besides recording music that is faithful to Indian classical music, Anushka has also been involved in a number of trans global collaborations, including recording with her half sister Norah Jones.
