Episode 184 features an interview with the Latin Grammy Award winning all-Women Mariachi ensemble Flor De Toloache who have overcome a number of obstacles in their career since they formed in New York City in 2008. Mariachi is traditionally a male dominated genre so it’s been no easy road for this band. However their musical prowess and vocal harmonies have been their passport to winning over an international audience with their progressive and traditional mariachi repertoire and well-crafted original songs. Equally, their respect for traditional form has seen Flor De Toloache deliver 3 albums, tour widely, including Womad 2020 and win Grammy Awards.
